My parents’ visit to Taiwan gave me an excuse to get out my tripod and use the self-timer mode on my camera. This small collection of photographs were taken at the homestay [民宿] they were staying at. Their homestay was on the second floor of a nearby cafe. A curtain in the cafe made a wonderful backdrop and sunlight coming through the windows provided all the necessary lighting.
Here, Cathy holds Josie wearing a dress my parents brought for her. The dress was worn by my grandmother.
Josie’s expression was telling everyone that she had enough pictures for one day and it was time to put away my gear.
