Here’s a small collection of pictures posted to Instagram during the shortest month of the year. Locales include Caotun Townhip, Jhongsing Village, Tainan City, and Puli Township.
Plastic Cup Lanterns
Ten Drum
Retire Your Television
The View From the Office Window

Fresh Coat of Orange
The Paper Church
The Eyes Have It
What’s your favorite and least favorite of the batch?
I’ve been to the Paper Church! Such a gorgeous place, and many expats don’t know about it, but it’s so worth a visit!
It’s a really nice spot and would recommend it over a lot of Puli’s attractions. Our kids enjoyed it, too. Well, they mostly just enjoyed sitting in the gravel of a footpath and playing with stones.
I love the Ten Drum but honestly, I enjoyed all of them.
Thanks Chess,
It’s an old sugar refinery that turned into a drumming exhibition and culture center.
So fun !! great photos!

Thank you Aimee!
“The Eyes have it” was my favorite pic. It would be cool to have something like that in your house. 😀
That’s my favorite too Alexandare. It looks like a pretty straight forward project. You wouldn’t necessarily have to use drums – canvases would work great, too.
Yeah, exactly! Glad to know someone likes that one too! 🙂
Lovely!
Thanks!
So different and so quaint. I am ashamed that I have never gone.
Nothing to feel ashamed of. Taiwan is usually overlooked as a vacation spot anyways.
Amazing photos!
Thank you Paul Bowler!

I like the Paper Cup Lanterns best, might try to recreate some on our patio! We just posted a bunch about our visit to Taiwan in January on our site, http://www.chrancyvsworld.com
We’ll probably make a bunch ourselves during next year’s Lantern Festival. Thanks for stopping by!

In only one word. “BEAUTIFUL!”
Thanks!
Fresh coat of orange was lovely! As were the rest of them 🙂
Thank you. That building has since turned into a restaurant specializing in beef dishes.
I loved the eyes 🙂
Thanks Prometheus!
I really enjoyed your pictures!! Gorgeous. I had layovers in Taiwan last month and wish I could have stayed and explored.
Thanks! Despite being small, there’s quite a lot to explore in this country.
Funny you post the Ukeleles. I just recently saw these locally, thought they were so pretty in different colors all in a row. Almost got one for my son to play with
The school I work at has a ukelele class. I don’t think any two students have the same color or patterned ukelele!
Gorgeous photos – I really love the one of the plastic cup lanterns!
Thank you Jess Carey!
