Arthur Yang’s The Origin of Life

This sphere’s glass and bronze represents the clear and the solid, the soft and the hard, and other such opposites – expressing the ancient Chinese Taoist concept of yin and yang, the eternal opposites that together are the source of life. Water flows through the stainless steel gap between the two sides. This piece symbolizes that all life originates in the harmonious interaction between yin and yang.

This interesting piece of public art rests outside Taoyuan International Airport.
