We needed to get the most bang for our buck from our 24-hour Innsbruck Card so we hopped on the Patscherkofel Cable Car for beautiful views and fresh air. Patscherkofel is a mountain which stands 2246 m [7639 feet] above sea level in western Austria, south of Innsbruck.
The mountain hosted several events during the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics. I imagine this mountain would be quite beautiful during the winter. Unfortunately, I’m pretty sure I’m too old to learn how to do anything that requires physical coordination, so I don’t think I’ll be doing any skiing or snowboarding here in the future.
The cable car ride ends at the Panorama Restaurant. There’s a short hike to the summit, but we didn’t have enough time to walk to the top of the mountain.
Predictably, I made a panorama:
View the large.

I am using your panoramic photo of the view from the Patscherkofel as my background on my computer screen for now. Innsbruck is my hometown and trips onto the Patscherkofel, as well as looking at it from below always held a special place in my heart. Thank you for going there and enjoying it. Being up there is a spiritual experience. I’ll do it again someday.
I am delighted to hear that you enjoy my photograph. My wife and I had such a wonderful time there. I hope we have an opportunity to return in the future.
