I have embarked on the painstaking process of giving my website a more uniform look. One thing that plagued the previous site was that I never stuck with one format for individual posts. This is most evident in posts containing pictures: sometimes they were thumbnails hosted on Flickr, other times various sizes hosted on Blogger.
I started last night chronologically from my most recent post and began to work from there. I haven’t made much progress, but those I have changed have already created a more polished look. Breaking up posts with “continue reading” tabs will also help anyone with a slow connection.
I don’t imagine being done anytime soon.
Looking tight so far. Every once in a while I get the urge to give my site a “spring cleaning”. I feel the urge itching again soon. I love doing it, but I hate it at the same time. Damn my OCD!
I’m getting things done as I find time, I just finished the posts on page 2… If the weather remains terrible I might be done in two weeks, but the end of the month is probably a more realistic goal.
After the posts are cleaned up I would like to do a few more things with the sidebar and go through the old comments because people who commented in the past no longer have links back to their respective websites.
I think it looks great Todd. I love WordPress too. I’m glad you’ve made the switch!
I have been using wordpress for a year and have learned quite a bit about it. If you have any questions, email me and I’ll see what I can do.
Cheers,
John
I think WP is a great platform.
I imported from blogger as well, but did so in the beginning of my blog, so it wasn’t a real problem.
