Cathy in Hokkaido!

As stated in the previous post, last week Cathy went to Hokkaido and took a ton of wonderful pictures. It is Lavender season in Hokkaido, so Cathy and her second sister got to spend a lot of time around the flowers:

Cathy wants to lay down in the Lavender:

This is the location outside of a factory and farm where Cathy bought a pillow for me:

There were other flowers in bloom besides Lavender:

Somebody wants a free handout:

The legendary Davy Jones:

This ice cream is made with squid ink, but no one could tell the difference between squid ink ice cream and regular squid ink.

Elmo is huge everywhere:

Another cute animal:

I thought 2 seater bicycles were excessive… but 36?:

You are coming with me to see my friends:

The bear park is full of American Grizzly Bears:

Many stand up to beg for cookies and apples:

Some like to sit and lay down while begging:

The older ones don’t like to beg at all:

Outside the park is a volcano:

Looks like a lot of fun! Maybe next time I will get to go!

  1. I’ve never been to Hokkaido and before reading your blog, I’ve only seen winter pictures of the place. I have to say that I looks very nice in summer, and should definitely be worth a visit. Thanks for the post!

  2. Thanks for the responses, I have wanted to go to Japan for a long time and watching my girlfriend go while I was stuck in Taipei was such a drag. I hope to get a chance to go within a year.

David, maybe we can organize a Taipei foreign teachers’ group to go to Japan?
