Over 400 species of butterflies call Taiwan their home. In the 1960s, Taiwan was known as the Butterfly Kingdom because people here were exporting around 10 million butterflies per year. Now, conservation programs are in place to protect the variety of species that make Taiwan the Butterfly Kingdom.

The pictures you’ll find here are part of my own personal goal to photograph and identify as many species as possible. This is a small hobby of mine that is slowly taking on a life of its own.

Please contact me if there are any identification errors or if you would like to use any of the photographs.
