Here’s a half a dozen photographs from the final roll of film used in my Lomo Supersampler. My Supersampler went through a whopping six rolls of film before the ripcord mechanism decided to stop working. Currently, the camera is in several pieces and occupies a drawer in my office at work. One of these days I’ll get around to modifying it to incorporate a film advance wheel. Until then, I hope you enjoy this small collection of snapshots taken in Caotun Township.

Blue Wing Surface with Wide, Orange Bands
Kallima inachis formosana is one of about 5,000 species of butterflies belonging to the Nymphalidae Family. Its common name is the Dead Leaf Butterfly [枯葉蝶] and is found in Taiwan’s low mountain areas of around 500-1500 meters above sea level. Adult lifespan is between two to three months and its diet consists of fruit and sap. It spectacularly mimics a dry leaf when its wings are closed.

A couple months ago, Cathy and I headed to the Nantou Flower Festival in Puli only to find that we arrived far too early. Despite news on websites clamoring about festival’s grand commencement, when we arrived work crews were still planting flowers and the “flower sea” was completely barren. The most noteworthy section was a small plot of land devoted to Dahlias.
