TGS - Taipei Game Show 2008

Taipei Game Show 47

This year’s Taipei Game Show kicked off yesterday at the Taipei World Trade Center. I checked out the action early that afternoon before going to work. Tickets are $200NT at the door [$150NT for students] for admission. Inside there are loads of games, schwag, and promotional models to enjoy.

Master Chief looks pretty intimidating until you notice…

He’s wearing Nike.. aim for the feet! We found a weakness in the armor!

Halo 3 action figures go on sale in March… I think I will need to pick up a few. Don’t forget to accessorize your X-box 360:

Somewhere out there, a Sony fanboy cries himself to sleep:

Meanwhile, two young ladies try out Dance Dance Revolution Universe:

A couple 360 girls:

IGS’s 蒼天Online - an adventure game set in the time of the chaos after the collapse of the Han Dynasty. Their show started off with a few dancers followed by women wearing some great costumes [I don't think the dance had anything to do with the game]:

Finally, a group photo:

Hellgate: London didn’t have nearly as cool of a set up as they did last year. But they did bring the monster back:

I was watching the IGS stage show while Hellgate was performing. I missed the whole thing, but it must have been decent, from a distance I could see that whips were involved.

They also had some cool statues on display:

Run Up Games had a few absurdly beautiful women on their roster:

NBA Street Online’s girls did some dancing for the crowd, there were also a couple basketball hoops behind the stage to take shots:

M-etal Co., LTD also had a lot of girls on hand for the event:

Sony made the PS3 to shove their Blu-ray format down consumer’s throats, way to blow your lead in the console wars gents:

Finally, if one of your game’s characters is a giant chipmunk, you have no choice but to make the cutest stage show possible. Here is Holic Online:

If you are looking for more pics of gorgeous women, there will likely be a slew of new contributions to the NH Bushman’s Women of Taiwan Flickr group over the next few days.

You have a great skill for capturing people. What kind of gear do you have attached to your D40?

Brian - I was switching between the kit lens and the Nikon 55-200vr lens during the show. I had some extra help on lighting with an SB-600 speedlight.

Major eye candy dude, but really I stopped by for the article, err post. :D Good to look from this side of the monitor where I can’t get in trouble and say or do anything embarrassing.

Try to visit FF10(開拓動漫祭) comic festival in Taipei during summer. You can experience some cosplay culture in Taiwan

Early photos featured on this website were taken with a Canon S200. The S200 was replaced in Nov. 2006 with a Nikon P3. In Aug. 2007, I fell in love with a Nikon D40.

Panoramas on this site are created using a wonderful little program for MacOSx called Calico. All images are hosted on Flickr, but you probably already knew that.
