Mark,
If memory serves me correct, I paid $10 for wordpress.com to to map* my blog so that it uses my domain name. I paid for a one-year subscription when I first moved to wordpress. when someone typed "http://thedailybubbletea.com" it sent them to "http://dailybubbletea.wordpress.com". I recently however selected the right option so that when people go to the .wordpress.com url it sends them to the .com url Everything is still hosted on WP.com

*I think that's the right technical language.
