    You’re going to be famous at 85ºC all over Taipei now. All of us foreigners who have limited Chinese proficiency will be seen taking out and consulting this list. The workers will ask where did the list come from, and they will all know, “Todd”.

    Thanks a lot! Some things that I overlook in my studies here are words like 卡布奇諾 which I have gotten by just phonetically reproducing; if there’s no true need for me to look up a character, I will end up passing it by. I guess it’s an issue of pragmatics. This is nice though! Great for lazy students like myself.

    Could I ask what steps you took to get a working pinyin font? Thanks!

    Although we in Singapore grew up learning this HanYuPinYin way of managing Chinese, many of us nonetheless struggle with communicating in Mandarin while in Taiwan haha! Pai seh *!

    * Pai seh: Taiwanese MiLan ( or Singapore’s Hokkien) dialect meaning to feel embarassment. Or in this case, an apologetic way to express one feeling embarrassed..
