The Shi Yang Cultural Restaurant is located on Lane 101 Jingshan Road, south of the Lengshuikeng Visitor Center in Yangmingshan National Park. The area is named Lengshuikeng (cool water pit) because the temperature of the hot springs in this area is about 90 degrees Fahrenheit cooler than usual hot springs. I must warn you, there are lots of pictures of food in this post, so please proceed with caution.
The restaurant offers a set meal which changes every season:
A lot of restaurants in Taiwan go all out on presentation and atmosphere while completely dropping the ball on food quality/taste…. this restaurant thankfully got everything right.
I got a little experimental with shooting angles, on the far end of the serving platter is 4 cups of a sweet, fruity wine:
What are we supposed to do with this?
Throw it on top of the soup and watch it open:
The restaurant was also home to a pack of dogs that appeared to be under the collective care of the staff.
[Taiwan] [Yangmingshan] [Lengshuikeng] [Pine Gardens] [Food]

The food looks strange to me, was it really good? What about portion size? Did you leave full or still kinda hungry?
Great photos Todd! You and Prince Roy are making me extra hungry this morning.
Frost – It was the best Taiwanese food I’ve had in awhile. I left completely stuffed.. but then again I was eating with 3 Taiwanese women…
Carrie – then my mission is accomplished.
Hello, came upon your blog while goggling on pine gardens.
did u use the hot steam baths there? if u did, how did u find them?
how much did u spend on the food? thank you.
Hi Clarice, we only had lunch and did some sightseeing in the area, we didn’t visit any hot spring baths there.
Also, someone treated us to the lunch, so I didn’t find out the price.
Sorry I am not much help.
