The Racing Pigeon of Jiji Weir

I can only assume it was a racing pigeon by the number tagged on its leg. It wasn’t afraid to get close to us at Jiji Weir. There’s nothing exotic about pigeons, but this is the closest I’ve ever come to taking a decent picture of a bird in the wild. I once tried to get close to a group of pigeons at the park near my house to take a picture but ran away when a rat ran past me [yes, there are rats at the park across from Yongan Market... big ones] an eldery woman pushing a cart of recyclables tried to inform me they were harmless after she had finished laughing at me jumping back several feet when I spotted the creature. Nowadays I don’t walk through the park very often.

Great Pics. I’m sucker for pigeons. When I lived in Loudong there were racing pigeons caged and/or bred on the roof just above my apartment.
