That lighthouse built in 1908 seems a little too modern-looking. According to the “Insight Guide Taiwan” it’s an observation tower put up in the 1970s. The book goes on to say that there used to be a good view of the coast from it, but “silting has moved the coastline several kilometers to the west”.
